From Instagram: “This is one of my fondest memories of the day. As most of you know Amelia is learning to play the harp. We hired a harpist to play for our day guests. When I was talking to someone they mentioned that she had taken over. I couldn’t believe it, she was doing such a good job and I was so proud! Why not enhance your special day with beautiful, romantic harp music?
The harp can provide soothing music as part of civil or sacred wedding ceremony or provide background music for a drinks reception or wedding breakfast.
Your Wedding Ceremony
Unlike other forms of musical entertainment, the harp can be transported into any wedding venue of your choosing from a small chapel to a large hotel suite. Before the wedding ceremony, I will play quiet, calming music as your guests settle into their seats. I will then play for the entry of the bride, the signing of the register and the exit of the happy couple.
After the ceremony, the music will continue as your guests leave the room for your wedding reception. As this is the focal point of your day, I am more than happy to discuss your precise musical requirements with you – whether you would like traditional wedding marches, or modern pop classics, your tastes can be provided for as I am always happy to take special requests!
After your wedding ceremony, I can entertain your guests through your drinks reception and wedding breakfast. The harp can be moved outside so that your guests can make the most of the music and can also provide a focal point for your guests whilst you are having your photos taken. I will play a mixture to suit all tastes and settings, classical harp music, popular classics arranged for the harp and modern pop hits. Please see the music page for a sample lists of my repertoire, audio samples and videos.
Discussing your day in detail is incredibly important to ensure that you have exactly what you have in mind. If you have any special requests, please do not hesitate to contact me in advance, I am always happy to arrange and learn new music. You would be more than welcome to come and visit me to have a personal performance and we can then discuss your requirements in depth. If this is not possible, I do attend some Wedding Fairs so that you can come and see me in action. I have performed at numerous venues and have an in-depth knowledge of how a wedding day is planned and executed. Have a look here to see some of the places that I have performed.
As a wedding supplier, I have been nationally recognised for my work within the wedding industry. In 2013 I was chosen as one of ‘Britain’s Ten Best Harpists’ by Bride Magazine, and in 2019 I was shortlisted as the only acoustic musician in the Final of the ‘Best Musical Entertainment’ in the UK Wedding Awards (see more information on their website). I’m featured on Hitched and Google where you can read reviews from couples who I have worked with.
COVID-19 Update: Due to current restrictions on numbers at social events, please note that if you would like me to play at your wedding I will need to be counted as one of your 30 guests. Read the UK Government Guidance on Small Weddings here.
